WELCOME TO OUR

Complex Care Support Program

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

In the realm of foster care, accepting a placement may not always provide the full picture, leaving caregivers unprepared to address a child's trauma related behaviors and diagnoses, often leaving them feeling uncertain or overwhelmed..That’s where we come in.

Our Complex Care Support Program serves as a cutting-edge approach designed to offer additional support for cases with higher needs. Our very own C.A.R.E Service Specialist, Dr. Melissa Daniels, Psy.D., collaborates closely with the DCFS Placement Stabilization Team, DCFS Therapeutic Shelter Home Team, FURS, DMH, and more to form an advocacy system dedicated to both caregivers and youth in complex care cases.

Through our comprehensive services, families gain access to the education, support, and advocacy needed for a family-strengthening approach to placement stability. Don't hesitate—reach out today to embark on this journey toward enhanced support and stability. Let's engage in a conversation about your experiences and explore tailored ways to pave a more stable and supportive path for both you and the youth in your home.

WHO WE ARE

How We Can Help

In partnership with DCFS, we provide vital support to families with complex care placements. Our program emphasizes preventative support, offering harm reduction support to de-escalate potential crises before they arise, personalized educational conversations tailored to each unique placement, and reliable advocacy throughout your journey. Supporting a youth with complex care needs can be challenging, but providing them with a loving home, a skilled and informed caregiver, and a healthy, promising future is immensely rewarding. Our team ensures you have the real-time resources, guidance, and support needed to care for the youth in your home.

Our Complex Care Support Program Services

  • Real-Time, confidential support for complex care resource parents facing challenges or needing advice.

  • Providing financial assistance for essential needs and unexpected expenses to ease the burden on caregivers.

  • Personalized mentorship and support tailored to the individual needs of complex care resource parents with our complex care team.

  • Open to Complex Care Resource Parents who are navigating the challenges of higher-need placements through the DCFS Placement Stability Team (PST) Program or the DCFS Therapeutic Shelter Home (TSH) Program. Each weekly virtual meeting is expertly crafted to address the common situations, behaviors, and diagnoses that you may encounter in these specialized placements. This group is not open to FURS families at this time.

  • We facilitate Purposeful Placements by thoughtfully matching the unique needs of children with families best suited for their growth and healing through posts in our private Facebook Group. Available resource parents can join the group and watch for these posts and then follow up with the listed social worker for next steps in placement. Posts will indicate when they are for PST or TSH resource programs.
