Help Shape the Future of Foster Care in Los Angeles

Fostering UNITY is actively seeking thoughtful, mission-aligned individuals to join our Board of Directors. If you’re passionate about improving the lives of foster youth and supporting caregivers in meaningful, lasting ways — we want to hear from you.

As a board member, you’ll contribute your time, skills, and voice to:

  • đź“Š Guide our strategic vision and growth

  • 🧠 Share expertise in areas like child welfare, nonprofit leadership, community advocacy, finance, or lived experience

  • 🤝 Champion equity, transparency, and systems change in foster care

  • đź’¬ Attend quarterly board meetings and provide insight between sessions as needed

Executive Board Members
The Executive Board Members provide strategic leadership and oversight to Fostering UNITY. These members are responsible for key governance roles, including financial decisions, strategic direction, and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. As voting members, they actively participate in regular meetings held bi-monthly and guide the organization's policies and goals.

Members-at-Large
Members-at-Large serve in an advisory capacity, lending their expertise and community insight to support Fostering UNITY’s mission. While they do not hold voting power, their perspectives help inform Executive Board decisions. They meet three times annually to discuss strategic issues and may recommend topics for the Executive Board's consideration. This role is ideal for individuals who wish to contribute their skills without taking on governance responsibilities.
